Security Fundamentals

  • Security begins with practical prevention: auditing spaces, installing lights, reinforcing locks, and delineating private and communal areas.
  • Protect the products of Production and Procurement from theft, spoilage, and pests through locked storage and integrated pest management.
  • Every member should have at least some security training to prevent a "warrior caste" from forming.
  • Establish a clear chain of command in the field, even in otherwise horizontal organizations.
  • Run scenario-based crisis simulations until responses are reflexive and fear is overridden by training.
  • The goal is not a paranoid fortress but a culture of confidence through competence.
