Crisis Cadres
From shared anxiety into shared action
Crisis Cadres is an open-source playbook for community resilience. We take a realistic, pessimistic view of climate and societal collapse and turn it into pragmatic, local action. Small, committed groups called cadres build self-sufficiency through committees focused on production, procurement, education, and security.
Crisis Cadres
- Crisis Cadres are organizations of like-minded individuals collectively focused on providing resilience against whatever form the next crisis takes.
- They counteract the isolation and distrust bred by scarcity and uncertainty, fostering local self-sufficiency as a buffer against systemic failure.
- Cadres exist on a continuum, from low-commitment social organizing to fully committed survival groups.
- Key disciplines include political compartmentalization and an uncompromising commitment to reality (Militant Science).
- Producing a surplus to share with the wider community is the core recruitment and outreach strategy.
